📝 Job Description
Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a reputable institution with a minimum of 8 years of relevant, practical working experience in conservation, restoration, urban design, or related fields. The role includes advising on restoration and conservation of historic properties, designing building extensions/alterations, and coordinating conservation initiatives within the Walled City Master Plan.
⚙️ Job Responsibilities
- Ensure integration of proposed project components with WCLA plans and the Walled City Master Plan.
- Facilitate coordination and linkages between stakeholders (Archaeology Dept, Parks & Horticulture, Auqaf, LESCO, academic institutions, etc.).
- Liaise with Local Government & Community Development Department and Planning & Development Department, Government of Punjab.
- Participate and facilitate stakeholder meetings and discussions.
- Assess project risks and issues; propose and implement solutions.
- Manage stakeholder views towards optimal solutions.
- Design new buildings, extensions, or alterations; advise on restoration/conservation of old properties.
- Work on individual buildings or large redevelopment schemes including landscape and public space design.
- Prepare existing drawings and proposals for the complete project.
- Discuss project objectives, requirements, and budget with stakeholders.
- Prepare and present feasibility reports and design proposals.
- Produce detailed working drawings and specifications.
- Specify nature and quality of materials for renovation or rehabilitation.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, time, and budget compliance.
- Resolve construction-phase problems and issues.
- Manage environmental impact of project development.
- Attend meetings and site visits with contractors, consultants, line agencies, and other government departments.
- Support PMU staff on conservation issues as required.
