📘 Job Description
The Assistant Director (SOC) / L2 Analyst will lead SOC operations, analyze escalated security incidents, conduct threat hunting, and guide L1 SOC analysts. The role requires expertise in SIEM, incident response, and advanced detection engineering.
⚡ Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze escalated security events from L1 SOC analysts across SIEM, EDR, firewall, IDS/IPS, and other platforms.
- Perform deep-dive investigations using logs, packet captures, endpoint telemetry, and threat intelligence sources.
- Refine SIEM detection logic, correlation rules, and alert thresholds.
- Develop and improve Incident Response (IR) playbooks and SOPs.
- Validate log sources (Windows/Linux servers, apps, firewalls, cloud, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, and Security Engineering teams.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Assist in containment, eradication, and recovery phases of IR lifecycle.
- Support Purple Team exercises to test and validate detection readiness.
- Mentor L1 SOC analysts in triage and investigation techniques.
- Maintain incident reports, logs, and security metrics for continuous improvement.
